My Review
For the Mathematical aspect of the International Baccalaureate it is required for you to have a Graphical Display Calculator (GDC).
The calculator that has been recommended to me by many people, both teachers and past students, is the Texas Instruments TI84 calculator. The calculator does look incredibly confusing to use, but don’t worry too much as it isn’t too difficult with a little practice! The good thing about this calculator is that many of the Mathematics textbooks I have seen use the TI-84 as an example, so you may find that your textbook recommends this calculator and also shows you how to use it! But fear not, there are books available to teach you the exact functions of your TI-84 calculator, and it may be likely that this is the choice of calculator within your school, so your teacher will show you all the cool things it does! It can do almost everything you could ever want it to (for the exam) plot parabola graphs of quadratic equations and solve arithmetic sequences, to name a few.
The calculator is available at a discounted price of £74 within the UK and $120 in the USA. The calculator usually retails for around £80-£90, with the best price being around the £75 mark.
